Our compatibility studies at a glance

Below we would like to provide you with a brief overview of our 'tolerability' testing studies. In the patch tests we perform, we evaluate the redness and irritation in the test area by means of a score. The test product is usually applied occlusively or semi-occlusively upon request. In addition to the patch tests, the dermatological use test is another option for investigating skin tolerance. Here, the test product is applied in the subject's home environment. At the beginning and end of the application period, both an objective and a subjective dermatological evaluation of the corresponding test area are carried out, as well as an evaluation of product acceptance by the test persons by means of a questionnaire.

In the context of our compatibility studies, we are often asked for the statement 'dermatologically tested' or 'dermatologically apptoved'. As a manufacturer, you may affix this statement to your products as soon as you have conducted a tolerability study under dermatological control and your product has achieved positive results. With our proderm quality seal, you can additionally express the skin compatibility of your product more strongly.
